About & Portfolio

Sue Moran established her editing business over twenty-five years ago while working for HarperCollins Australia as a freelance editor. Her professional work history was built on a strong foundation of supporting artists and creative personnel at the Australian Broadcasting Corporation, Musica Viva Australia, Sadler’s Wells Royal Ballet (London), the Sydney Spring International Festival of New Music, Playbill, the Department of Education’s Performing Arts Unit, and the Sydney Theatre Company.

Sue’s first experience in publishing was compiling the photographic elements for the Sydney Theatre Company’s tenth anniversary book. She has since edited over eighty fiction and non-fiction works, five film scripts and two TV pilots (co-writing/editing), and collaborated with professional teams to write funding proposals and business plans for TV and film development projects.

Sue completed her degree with an extended major in Writing and Editing at the University of Queensland (UQ) in 2019. While at UQ, she led Peer Assisted Study Sessions for their 'Writing for the Professions’ course, and had her research published through AustLit - an internet-based, non-profit collaboration between researchers and librarians from Australian universities. Other professional work includes editing the catalogue for Torres Strait Islander artist Ken Thaiday Snr’s exhibition at Carriageworks and Performance Space in Sydney.

Sue is a Professional Member of the Institute of Professional Editors (IPEd).
